Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to alleviate pain and promote overall well-being. Originating thousands of years ago, acupuncture is based on the concept of Qi (pronounced “chee”), which is believed to be the vital energy flowing through pathways in the body known as meridians. When these pathways are blocked or imbalanced, it can lead to various ailments and discomfort.

By stimulating specific acupuncture points, practitioners aim to restore the balance of Qi, thus addressing a wide range of physical and mental health issues. This holistic approach has garnered increasing interest in the West, with numerous studies supporting its effectiveness in treating conditions such as chronic pain, migraines, anxiety, and insomnia. Moreover, acupuncture is renowned for its ability to enhance relaxation, reduce stress, and boost the body’s natural healing processes. At our clinic in Loveland, Ohio, our skilled acupuncturists offer personalized treatments tailored to each individual’s needs, providing a safe and natural way to promote health and vitality.

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy is a unique massage technique that originated in Asia and involves the therapist using their feet to deliver deep, broad pressure to the client’s body. During an Ashiatsu session, the therapist utilizes overhead bars for support and balance while gliding smoothly over the client’s muscles using their feet. This approach allows for deeper pressure compared to traditional hands-on massage, making it particularly effective for individuals seeking relief from chronic tension, muscle stiffness, and overall relaxation.

Bamboo fusion massage, on the other hand, incorporates heated bamboo sticks of varying sizes and shapes to knead and roll out muscle tension. This innovative technique combines the benefits of Swedish massage with the healing properties of heat and the therapeutic effects of bamboo. The warm bamboo sticks help to penetrate deeply into the muscles, promoting increased circulation, release of tension, and a profound sense of relaxation.

Both Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy and bamboo fusion massage offer a range of benefits beyond relaxation. They can help alleviate chronic pain, improve flexibility, and enhance overall well-being. Additionally, these modalities are known for their ability to relieve stress, promote better sleep, and boost the body’s natural healing processes. At our massage therapy clinic in Loveland, Ohio, our skilled therapists are trained in these specialized techniques, providing clients with personalized sessions tailored to their unique needs and preferences.

Cupping: Cupping is used to manage pain by bringing blood and oxygen to the area. It breaks up adhesions, stimulates the peripheral nervous system, increases range of motion, drains toxins from the lymphatic system, and increases circulation. It has been practiced for thousands of years and originated in China and West Asia. It can be combined with massage and acupuncture. Plastic cupping is included in any treatment at the client’s request. Fire cupping can be requested with an additional charge. Cupping can leave a bruise like circle that will disperse within 3-7 days.
Gua sha: A gua sha treatment involves scraping various areas of the body with a smooth-edged tool across lubricated skin to promote microcirculation of the soft tissue which increases the flow of blood.  It can leave petechiae in the area, similar to a rash, that will dissipate within hours or days post treatment. This can be added to any acupuncture or massage session. Gua sha can help treat various issues including migraines, chronic neck and back pain, anxiety, stress and so on.
Electrical Stimulation: Electrical stimulation or e-stim is used with or without acupuncture needles producing a mild electric current to a specific area. It is used for chronic pain, to mobilize scar tissue, digestive issues, to treat pain from physical trauma, pre or post surgery, repetitive strain injuries and degenerative conditions such as arthritis, promotes blood circulation, depression/anxiety, carpal tunnel, headaches, post stroke recovery, and many others. It stimulates the cardiovascular, immune, and endocrine systems to promote balance.
Auricular Therapy: Auricular therapy is used to enhance or elongate the benefits of a treatment. It can be part of an acupuncture session or added at the end of a massage. Small ‘seeds’ are attached to various points on the ear to treat a specific issue. The entire body can be affected by the points on the ear. It can be used as a tool to aid weight management, smoking cessation, or addiction, PTSD, sciatica, anxiety/depression, female issues, headaches, sleep issues, and more.
